The 36 year old will take on the top job this season following the resignation of David Faiumu, who spent the past two years in the position. Williams has a long and successful association with the Capras. He is the most capped player in the club’s history, having made 216 appearances in the maroon and blue since his debut in 2002. His enduring playing career also included five games with the Brisbane Broncos and stints in France with Toulouse Olympique and Lezignan Sangliers. ....
Brian James 1943-January 10, 2020 A high-quality winger for South Sydney who represented Australia at the 1968 World Cup before retiring at the age of 26. The son of former Cootamundra Maher Cup prop Jack Swifty James, he came to rugby league via rugby union after attending Newington College and playing a season of first grade with the St George rugby club. He switched to rugby league with St George in 1961 where he played centre and wing but top-grade opportunities were scarce in the Dragons’ star-studded backline, so he made the decision to transfer to South Sydney in 1966. He was quickly vindicated, playing more first-grade games in his first season with Souths (18) then he did in four years at St George (16). A winger of above average pace (he pursued professional sprinting in the off-season), James earned his first representative jersey with City Seconds in 1967 before making City Firsts the following year. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only The Mackay Cutters will welcome the Redcliffe Dolphins to BB Print Stadium to open the 2020 Intrust Super Cup season. Queensland Rugby League released the full 19-round fixture this morning. The Cutters-Dolphins clash is one of six matches on the opening day slate of fixtures on Saturday, March 20. All 14 clubs that committed to the 2020 season, which was cancelled just one round into the campaign because of COVID-19, have returned for 2021. That includes the Papua New Guinea Hunters, who will be based in Queensland for the duration of the competition. The Cutters host the Hunters at BB Print Stadium in Round 3. ....

They will play their first home game the following week against the Northern Pride. The Capras have nine home games, among them a Round 7 clash against the Northern Pride at Emerald’s McIndoe Park on Saturday, May 15. The QRL today released the draw for its revised premier men’s statewide competition. The 2021 Intrust Super Cup season will be played over 19 rounds, with a split round in Round 8. The 14 clubs that started the 2020 season before its suspension due to COVID-19 are already back in training for the new year. ....
