Library News: Week of July 18, 2021 The Summer Book Sale is this week on the main level of the Nobles County Library in Worthington. 12:00 am, Jul. 18, 2021 × WORTHINGTON The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Summer Book Sale: The Summer Book Sale is this week during regular business hours on the main level of the library. The sale is open to the public and not restricted to library card holders. There is a variety of adult fiction, science fiction and non-fiction books, young adult books, paperbacks, children s books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs. Watch for the bag sale at the end of the week!

  Funding for cultural projects at KHOI comes from a generous donation from Ames Commission on the Arts. LOCAL TALK 9 April 2021 Local Talk for Friday April 9 included a great summary of the news from the pages of the Ames Tribune by Dennis Hart.  Merry Rankin, Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Ames and Iowa State University invited Anne Owens, Volunteer Center for Story County to talk about Stash the Trash program this weekend at Jack Trice Stadium.  Kayley Barrios Lain, Electric Services Coordinator, discussed community Earth Month Scavenger Hunt to empower the community to learn good things about our home.  Municipal Engineer, Tracey Peterson appeared with Susan Gwiasda Public Relations Officer for the City of Ames to interpret the major flood plain renovation project along Ioway Creek and South Duff.  The goal is to mitigate perilous floodwaters associated along South Fifth St. and allow Ioway Creek and cleaner convergence with South Duff bridge. There s plenty to keep you busy at the Kewanee Public Library District Star Courier Fireside Author Chat – Thursday, May 6 at 7 p.m. Join us on Zoom for a fireside chat with Alex Kotlowitz, author of An American Summer: Love and Death in Chicago, The Interrupters, and There Are No Children Here.
