Grant Holloway opened a sizeable lead by the fourth of 10 hurdles in the men’s 110-meter hurdles on June 26 at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials and he won in 12.96.
Devon Allen crossed the line second in 13.10; after what he called one of his worst starts of the season, he made up distance on Holloway on hurdles 5 through 10, tying his time from the semifinal. Daniel Roberts finished third in 13.11 to round out the runners heading to Tokyo for the event.
“Everybody knows what my goal is,” Holloway said after his run. “As long as [the medal is] a gold, it doesn’t matter what the time is.”
