Wallin Continues To Lead Seminoles At Regional Championships

No. 16 Florida State finished round two of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional tied with UCLA for first place, after shooting a 2-over par 290. Senior Amelia Williamson and Sophomore Charlotte Heath shot the best rounds for the Florida State team, as both teammates bounced back in round two with even par rounds. UCLA’s Emma Spitz is currently leading the field at 4-under par, with Florida States’ Beatrice Wallin trailing by two. Wallin had a phenomenal front-nine, starting off strong with back-to-back birdies on holes 2 and 3, followed by a hole out from the fairway on No. 4 for her second eagle of the tournament. PAWLEYS ISLAND. (seminoles.com) – Florida State is tied for first in the team standings, while senior Beatrice Wallin and sophomore Alice Hodge in tied for fourth in the individual standings after the first two rounds of the ACC Women’s Golf Championship at the Reserve at Pawleys Island.  The Seminoles moved in a tie with first with Wake Forest as Florida State finished 1 under par on the final hole while the Deacons finished 2 over par on the final hole. Florida State will play in Friday’s final group in the final round of stroke play as it looks to advance to the match play portion of the event for the second consecutive season.  The Seminoles advanced to the final round of match play before falling to Duke in the championship match. TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (seminoles.com) - One of the Seminoles’ own, Amelia Williamson, took away the individual champion title on the final round of the Florida State Match-Up. The Florida State team came together to shoot a combined 296, which put them at 8-over par for the final round. For the three-day event, Florida State totaled an 875, 11-over par. They finished 13 strokes out of the lead, with #3 ranked Oregon taking the Team Champion title shooting a grand total 3-under par 861. Florida State beat nationally ranked teams in the Match-Up, such as Virginia Tech (+22), Arizona (+30), and Oregon State (+33).
