A court in Bengaluru on Saturday issued temporary injunction against 68 media houses restraining them from airing or publishing any unverified news item or defamatory content against six ministers of BS Yediyurappa-led BJP government in Karnataka. 
The Bengaluru court passed the order on a joint petition by the six ministers Labour Minister Shivaram Hebbar, Agriculture Minister BC Patil, Cooperative Minister ST Somashekar, and Health Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar. The petition was filed on Friday. 
On Saturday, Addtional City Civil and Sessions Judge D S Vijaya Kumar, in his order, said that the media houses are restrained from telecasting or publishing any unverified news items against the ministers till next order.  ....

A city court on Saturday issued a temporary injunction against media organisations from telecasting or publishing of any defamatory and unverified news items against six Karnataka ministers.
The ministers in the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa-led cabinet had moved the court on Friday seeking an injunction.
Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge D S Vijaya Kumar in the order said in his opinion it is necessary to injunct telecasting or publishing of any unverified news items against the plaintiffs/applicants. ....

New Delhi: A Bengaluru court on Saturday restrained 68 media houses from telecasting or publishing ‘defamatory’ news related to the alleged sex-for-job scandal against six ministers in the Karnataka government until the next date of hearing, news reports said.
The move comes after the ministers – Shivaram Hebbar, B.C. Patil, H.T. Somashekhar, K. Sudhakar, Narayan Gowda and Bhyrati Basavaraj – moved a civil court Friday expressing apprehension of being defamed after their colleague resigned over the scandal. A City Civil and Sessions Court here on Saturday granted temporary injunction restraining 67 media organisations, including print, television, digital, and social media platforms, from putting out any defamatory news or showing video footage and pictures about six Cabinet Ministers.
It also restrained the media from committing any act or intentional omission which causes character assassination of the plaintiff-Ministers on the basis of unverified material.
D.S. Vijaya Kumar, 26th Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, passed the interim order on a suit filed jointly by A. Shivaram Hebbar, B.C. Patil, H.T. Somashekar, K. Sudhakar, K.C.Narayana Gowda, and Byrathi Basavaraj. ....
