HURLOCK, Md. – Dorchester County is in the final steps of its 43-million dollar facility replacement at North Dorchester High School.
The school opened in 2019 but right now officials are putting the finishing touches on the athletic facilities. This includes lighting on fenced-in fields, Bermuda grass, an eight lane state championship rated track and field venue, bleachers, score board as well as a video display and stadium sound system. Officials say this space will serve as a much needed resource for the rural community.
“This facility, the North Dorchester Middle School and High School campus, is the center of community activity for the entire northern end of the county. All of the ball fields, the athletic facilities will be there to support school activities as well as community recreation and parks activities,” says Chris Hauge, the school facilities engineer for Dorchester County Board of Education. ....
