The movie’s lead character Joe Gardner, who is voiced by Jamie Foxx, is led on a spiritual journey immersed in black culture intertwining his day job as an NYC teacher with a new career in jazz music. Inspired by Disney and Pixar s Soul, the colorful design on this tee features Libba Gardner, Dorothea Williams, Melba and Mary Lou, the four black woman in Joe s village. Created by artist Bee Harris for Hue Unlimited, the tee is part of a collection crafted by emerging artists celebrating Pixar s first ever lead black character. ....

She played with the late Aretha Franklin and toured with Beyoncé s band that played at the White House. But her most recent gig is her biggest yet - performing as the animated saxophone player Dorothea Williams in Pixar s latest film, Soul. Fuller, who grew up in Colorado, recorded her saxophone parts with Soul score co-composer Jon Batiste s band while Pixar filmed the musicians movements. The exact notes Fuller played on her saxophone are mimicked by the fictional Dorothea Williams in the film. ....
