A SOLVE worker at a downtown Portland cleanup on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. More than 300 folks volunteered that day to pick up 4,310 pounds of litter and approximately 48,800 cigarette butts from around Portland. 
Picking up trash isn’t all that hard to do. The problem is, it’s even easier 
not to do it—to rely on the janitorial instinct of someone who cares. Or perhaps you think your tax dollars will pay for someone, ....

Brookdale Warming Center gets $5K boost from Georgia Farm Bureau

MACON,GA The Georgia Farm Bureau is the latest organization to help with Macon s Brookdale Warming Center.
Mayor Lester Miller, GFB Director of Public Relations & Information Kenny Burgamy, and Brookdale Warming Center Director Steve Bell announced a donation of $5,000 from the Georgia Farm Bureau. 
The funds will be used to directly support the individual needs of its residents.
With Georgia Farm Bureau’s home office located in Macon-Bibb County since the 1940’s, and serving as the fourth largest employer here, it consistently looks for opportunities to help improve and support the needs in the community. ....

Republican vs Republican in U.S. Capitol controversy


SALEM — Oregon House Republicans disowned an official Oregon Republican Party claim that the riot at the U.S. Capitol was a “false flag” operation by Democrats to politically damage then-President Donald Trump.
A two-page screed featured a resolution passed by the party’s executive committee calling the 10 House Republicans who voted for the impeachment of President Trump “traitors.” It claimed the mob of Trump supporters who smashed their way into the U.S. Capitol in a riot that left five dead and 140 police officers injured was a Democratic conspiracy to set off the “sham” impeachment. The episode was likened to the 1933 burning of the German Reichstag in Berlin by Nazis, who then blamed the fire on others. The party called for a “patriot network” to advance their claims. ....
