The public commitments by most governments to emissions-reduction, and the decarbonisation of heavy industry to meet those targets, continue to drive expectations for sector growth. Aeroplanes will need to shift to clean fuel sources, waste from the high-polluting logistic sector will have to be cut to the bone, and the proportion of ethanol in transport fuels is likely to increase in many places. The coronavirus pandemic has sharpened government attention on more immediate issues than transport sector reform, with Indonesia and Malaysia pushing back biodiesel blending mandates temporarily and Thailand postponing its ethanol-blending mandate indefinitely. ....

Garbage truck catches fire, driver crashes into parked car in Alice Springs News by Sarah Matthews Premium Content Subscriber only A GARBAGE truck has caught fire and a driver has accidentally driven into a parked vehicle in Alice Springs overnight. Around 3.30pm, police received a report of a garbage truck on fire while driving on the Tom Brown roundabout. The truck stopped and shed is load onto South Terrace, with police closing the road while firefighters put the fire out. No one was injured and the truck sustained minor damage. It is unknown what caused the fire at this time. ....
