Cricket-England players lead IPL exodus, Australians to wait...

NEW DELHI, May 5 (Reuters) - Several foreign players began heading home on Wednesday after the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with tournament organisers planning an airlift to Maldives or Sri Lanka for the stranded Australian cohort.
Hours after the lucrative cricket league was suspended on Tuesday because of India s coronavirus crisis, the English members of the Delhi Capitals squad rushed to Delhi from Ahmedabad to prepare for their return home.
The 38-strong contingent of Australian players, coaches, umpires and media pundits will have to wait longer, though, to get home, in the face of a ban on arrivals from India until at least May 15. ....

IPL's foreign stars scramble to escape India | Daddy please come home!


Two more cricketers were confirmed as testing positive for coronavirus – Delhi Capitals leg-spinner Amit Mishra and Sunrisers Hyderabad wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha. 
New Zealand Cricket said it was trying to organise a charter to Britain for Test players Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Kyle Jamieson and Mitchell Santner, as well as three players signed to English county sides.
Britain is currently only allowing its own citizens to travel home from India but a New Zealand Cricket spokesman said
“we’re confident of getting border exemptions”.
England’s Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Sam Billings, Moeen Ali and Sam and Tom Curran are beginning a 10-day hotel quarantine after arriving back in Britain, the England and Wales Cricket Board said. ....

London: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that eight of the 11 English players who were playing in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League have returned home after the season was postponed on Tuesday.
Speaking to ANI, Danny Reuben head of team communication for England cricket team confirmed that while 8 players are back in the UK, the remaining three players are set to leave India in the next 48 hours. ....

Six the Musical: new West End production shots unveiled as the show prepares to reopen

Six in the West End once again and, with just over two weeks to go, things are hotting up for everyone s favourite histor-remix!

The show has said it will recommence performances on Friday 21 May 2021 at the Lyric Theatre, operating initially with 50 per cent capacity restrictions (in a similar vein to when it first played at the venue in December). As per the government roadmap, social distancing measures may be eased after 21 June 2021. ....
