Anthony Dyson A Christian County grand jury indictment for attempted murder of two police officers has been served against a Hopkinsville man. The indictment warrant for two counts of attempted murder and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment was served against 25-year old Anthony Dyson of Hopkinsville. Two Hopkinsville police officers were responding to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of East 13th Street just after midnight on New Year’s Day and found a man holding a gun standing on the front porch of a home. Sgt. Tony Sierra says Dyson is accused of being that man who allegedly took off running and fired two shots with one going through a civilian vehicle and striking the rear of the occupied unmarked HPD cruiser. ....

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 29, 2021 6:46 AM Hopkinsville police recovered a stolen car early Friday morning following a pursuit that began on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Sgt. Tony Sierra says officers began pursuing the stolen 2009 Hyundai Accent near Taco Bell on the Boulevard shortly after midnight and the male juvenile driver turned onto Nelson Drive and Country Club Lane and made his way to 21st and then McKee Street before abandoning the car on foot at McKee and College Street. Police were able to catch his passenger, a juvenile female, but the driver got away. The female was released into the custody of a family member and a warrant was issued against the driver, who police were able to identify. ....

Hopkinsville police say 65-year old Sandra Brasher of Hopkinsville was traveling on North Drive and ran the stop sign at Sanderson a few minutes after 9 p.m. The collision report says a medical issue and excessive speed may have been a factor. Her car went through the yard at 1156 Sanderson and struck an SUV in the carport, pushing it into the home and striking seven-year old Logan Hamlin of Hopkinsville, who was sitting at a desk in a bedroom. ....
