WHIZ News Two Suspects Charged Following Zanesville Homicide Zanesville Police Chief Tony Coury released the names of the two suspects and victim. 23-year-old Jayla Wyatt was found dead in her apartment on 6th Street when police arrived at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Police received a phone call from a resident of the apartment stating he came home and found her lying on the ground, appearing to look deceased. She was shot with a firearm. 20-year-old Tristaney Baker is believed to be the shooting suspect. 23-year-old Devin McKnelly was in the area when the shooting occurred. Coury said McKnelly is believed to be the one who drove himself and Baker to the apartment and back to Columbus. ....
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A homicide investigation is underway in Muskingum County. According to The Zanesville Police Department, a call was received about a body inside a residence on South 6th Street, Tuesday . The responding officers reportedly found a deceased 23-year-old female, inside the home. Her identity has not yet been released, and two people of interest are in custody in connection with the death. Detectives worked with Columbus Police and Swat teams and a male and female were taken into custody in Franklin County overnight. The names of the suspects have not been released; however, Chief Tony Coury says a press conference will be held this (Thursday) morning, to release more details about the case. ....
Young woman killed in downtown Zanesville, 2 in custody ZANESVILLE Two people are in police custody in Columbus after a woman was found dead in a downtown Zanesville apartment Tuesday evening. Around 7 p.m., police were called to 46 Sixth St., where they discovered the dead woman inside an apartment. The victim is believed to be 23 years old and lived in the apartment, Zanesville Police Chief Tony Coury said. Her death is being treated as a homicide. While the victim has not been officially identified, Coury said police believe they know who she is. A woman arrived on scene around 8:30 p.m. in despair, believing it was her daughter who was killed. ....
