Long lineups and a shortage of wheelchairs made the first day of mass vaccinations in Quebec an ordeal for some of the elderly seniors who got their COVID-19 jabs Monday.
“I was really exhausted,” said Phyllis Laett, 91, who spent more than two hours getting her first dose of the vaccine in St-Laurent. That included standing in line for more than half an hour outdoors, which was a hardship for elders with mobility issues, many of whom weren’t dressed for the weather, she said.
