About a dozen residents Wednesday protested selectmen’s decision to delay town meeting and election to May. The rest of the Governor Wentworth Regional School District’s towns – Brookfield, New Durham, Ossipee, Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro – are voting in March, as in past years.
The protesters, led by Leanne Leonard, a mother of three children in the school district, stood outside the town offices starting at 5 p.m. while Selectmen Michael Cahalane (chair), Chuck Fuller and Tom Hart met to host a Zoom public hearing to explain their decision. ....

Effingham residents protest delayed vote


EFFINGHAM — About a dozen residents Wednesday protested selectmen s decision to delay town meeting and election to May. The rest of the Governor Wentworth Regional School District s towns — Brookfield, New Durham, Ossipee, Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro — are voting in March, as in past years.
The protesters, led by Leanne Leonard, a mother of three children in the school district, stood outside the town offices starting at 5 p.m. while selectmen Michael Cahalane (chair), Chuck Fuller and Tom Hart met to host a Zoom public hearing to explain their decision.
Some of the protesters held signs while others sat in their cars to keep warm. At one point, the group walked behind the town office to make sure selectmen could see their signs. ....

The two candidates competing to be the next mayor of San Diego come from distinctly different backgrounds and from different generations but from the same political party in what is San Diego’s first Democrat-only mayor’s election.
San Diego Councilwoman Barbara Bry and State Assemblyman Todd Gloria will face off in the November 3rd election after eliminating San Diego Councilman Scott Sherman, a registered Republican, in the primary in March. Former San Diegan Peter Navarro Says WH Staff Planning for Second Trump Term

White House trade advisor Peter Navarro says the President’s staff is moving forward “under the assumption that there will be a second Trump term”.
“Our assumption is the second Trump term, we think he won that election, and any speculation about what Joe Biden might do I think his moot at this point,” Navarro said.
Navarro inserted himself into the debate over the election during an interview on CNBC instead of discussing the President’s recent executive order banning investments in Chinese companies that advance that country’s military capabilities. ....
