The Greenfield Tennis Association (GTA) will sponsor a fundraising, special day of doubles tennis on June 19.
All proceeds will go toward the continued maintenance of the clay courts in Greenfield. Men, women, juniors and seniors of all levels are welcome to play in this fun, single-day event. You will enter as a single person; your doubles partner will be selected randomly and will change throughout the event with each round. The event will take place on the very clay courts the GTA is striving to preserve for the community – Beacon Field and Highland Park.

The Island charity received a cheque for £1,840 from the Woodcock family this week. For several years, the Woodcocks have attended events around the Island, running a soft toy tombola. This year, with all the events cancelled, Donna Woodcock made the best of the Covid situation by setting up an online sale, which followed all social distancing rules. All of the items sold had been donated. Her achievement was recognised with thanks at a recent Zoom committee meeting of the association. The charity hopes to have a face-to-face meeting with Donna at its AGM in March, following a year of virtual meetings.
