Beyonce called, she wants her skin back!
When I went in for my appointment a few weeks later, I pleasantly learnt that there was nothing spa-like about the experience.

A few months ago, I met a dear friend of mine for a (virtual) dinner. “Your skin looks amazing,” I said, leaning closer into my computer screen; wondering if it was poor internet connection, a filter, or just really good skin. It looked radiant and freakishly smooth, probably what Beyonce looked like at two months old. “I just got a carbon laser peel,” she replied. I was sold on the spot. ....

Oceans extreme depths measured in precise detail
Scientists say we now have the most precise information yet on the deepest points in each of Earth s five oceans.
The key locations where the seafloor bottoms out in the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic and Southern oceans were mapped by the Five Deeps Expedition.
Some of these places, such as the 10,924m-deep (6.8 miles) Mariana Trench in the western Pacific, had already been surveyed a number of times.
But the Five Deeps project removed a number of remaining uncertainties.
For example, in the Indian Ocean, there were two competing claims for the deepest point - a section of the Java Trench just off the coast of Indonesia; and a fracture zone to the southwest of Australia. ....

Deepest points of the world's oceans revealed

Following one of the most adventurous ocean expeditions ever, scientists have returned precise measurements for the deepest points in each of the world s five major oceans.
Data from the Five Deeps Expedition (FDE), which performed dives over the course of 10 months from 2018 to 2019, confirms for the first time the locations of the deepest points of Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean.
The deepest point of the Indian Ocean is at 7,187 metres, within the Java Trench, just off the coast of Indonesia, the data reveals, while the deepest point of the Southern Ocean has a depth of 7,432 metres, within the South Sandwich Trench.  ....

Catching slimy longfin eels slithering in the bottom of a boat and bagging them is the hardest part of Contact Energy eel fisherman Tony Hishon s job.
Since December Hishon, of Te Anau, and fellow eel fisherman Chris Ramage, of Invercargill, have spent 40 days on lakes Wakatipu, Hawea and Wānaka, trapping and transferring large longfin eels wanting to leave the lakes for the Clutha River and eventually out to sea to breed. ....
