GREAT FALLS – A Havre man accused of beating and strangling a woman on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation pleaded guilty to an assault crime Tuesday, Acting U.S. Attorney Leif M. Johnson said.
Joseph Tyler Henderson, 28, pleaded guilty to assault resulting in substantial bodily injury.
Henderson faces a maximum of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided. Chief Judge Morris set sentencing for Aug. 26. Henderson was released pending further proceedings. ....

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – A Havre man accused of beating and strangling a woman on the Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation pleaded guilty to an assault crime Tuesday, Acting U.S. Attorney Leif M. Johnson said.

Racers get muddy to raise money for cancer programs in Saturday's Endure the Dirt 5K

The third Endure the Dirt 5K Adventure Run was held Saturday just north of Mack’s Prairie Wings in Stuttgart. The event brings awareness to the cancer journey while raising money for the local nonprofit organization Personal Pep Rally to provide services for cancer patients nationwide.
Leslie Bednar, event committee chair, said the event had over 300 entries this year with about half of those entries participating virtually through the Now We Sprint 25-mile Run. While the in-person event was smaller than the one planned last year, which was canceled due to the pandemic, this year’s Endure the Dirt was successful at bringing the community together to raise money to benefit those with cancer. ....

Oak Harbor 5-foot-10 senior guard Blake Booker was named Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division Most Outstanding Player after averaging 19.4 points, and is a unanimous first team selection.
“Blake is well deserving of this honor, he has put many hours into his game over the years. His skill set was on full display this season,” Oak Harbor coach Eric Sweet said. “The SBC Bay Division has many great players in it and it is a great honor for Blake to receive this award. He is the best shooter I have ever coached in my career. He is an outstanding young man and one that I had the honor to coach.” ....
