The Amazon Prime Original movie “Them” was released on April 9. It focuses on the hardship of a Black family transitioning from North Carolina to California to live a better life in an all-white neighborhood. The family becomes terrorized by their new neighbors and face different micro-aggressions that stimulate their own personal horrors. The problem many are having with the film is that “Them” replicates the style of Jordan Peele’s “Us” movie from 2019, and the scenes are seen as insensitive. ....

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, a federal grand jury in Cleveland returned a four-count indictment of money laundering and wire fraud against Tyree Conyers-Page, who goes by the moniker Sir Maejor Page. The FBI believes he created a 501(c)(3) Facebook page, calling it “Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta” and defrauded people after its tax exempt status as a charity was revoked. ....

TOLEDO, Ohio – An Ohio activist has pleaded not guilty to federal charges of having spent for personal use some $200,000 in donations to what was represented as a Black Lives Matter charity. The Toledo Blade reports that 32-year-old Sir Maejor Page, also known as Tyree Conyers-Page, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to money laundering and wire fraud counts. FBI officials say the Toledo resident created and operated a Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta social media page and registered it as a nonprofit with state and federal officials in 2016. In 2019, the group’s charity tax exemption was revoked and the corporation dissolved after the required paperwork wasn’t filed, but the group remained listed as a nonprofit on social media sites and took in hundreds of thousands of dollars over the summer, authorities said. ....
