The Portland Trail Blazers held off the Dallas Mavericks for a 121-118 victory on Sunday night, winning their fourth game in a row as they began a three-game road trip.
Damian Lillard led the way with 34 points and 11 assists for the Blazers (16-10), who got 17 points from Gary Trent Jr.
Robert Covington finished with 15 points, five rebounds and four steals, while Carmelo Anthony also added 15 points and five rebounds.
The Mavericks led 61-58 at halftime, but the Blazers regained the lead with 8:25 to play in the third quarter on Covington’s three that made it 73-70. The Blazers never relinquished the lead from there. Dallas tied the game at 116-116 with 49.5 seconds to play on Dorian Finney-Smith’s three-pointer, but then Lillard answered with his own three and the Blazers held on from there.
