The All weather lifeboat was called out to a broken down yacht A YACHT which had undergone a long renovation suffered engine failure on its first voyage and had to be rescued by Falmouth lifeboat. The yacht with two people on board had been on passage from Exmouth to its new home in the Helford on Sunday when it suffered engine failure due to a fuel problem which had proved impossible to rectify in the prevailing moderate swell. Having drifted closer to the shore in Gerrans Bay the skipper was concerned about sailing clear of the lee shore so dropped the yacht s anchor and contacted the coastguard at around 5.25pm for assistance.
