An artist has created an incredible doodle map of Oxford, featuring all the landmarks, museums, restaurants and shops and name-checking its most famous inhabitants. Dave Gee, 31, is a freelance illustrator and mural artist who has made an international name for himself with a trademark cartoon-ish doodling style. Mr Gee said: “Last year me and my girlfriend took a staycation and we visited Oxford so it was recent in my memory. “As I was walking around I was thinking, there’s a lot of things I could draw here. “I also just really liked the vibe, there were lots of independents – I always try to push as many independent businesses as I can - and I took a bit of a shine to it.” ....
CROMWELL â The Cromwell Town Council was full steam ahead Tuesday night on the townâs pursuit of a state grant for its waterworks improvement project. The three-member council authorized council president Jerry Pauley to sign documents for the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs grant application, due June 1, and conducted the first of two public hearings on the project. The second public hearing will be held before June 25. No members of the public spoke at the hearing. Casey Erwin of DLZ, the townâs engineering firm, reviewed his preliminary engineering report for the project, which totals $3.5 million. An OCRA grant of $600,000 could reduce the townâs cost to $2.9 million. ....
FROM the Fred Dibnah statue in the town centre to Smithills Hall, an artist has managed to cram in Bolton’s best-known attractions into an impressive doodle map. Manchester-based Dave Gee - known as Dave Draws - is well known for his highly detailed drawings having produced maps of towns and cities across the UK in his signature monochrome linear style. His designs are so popular he s even been commissioned to produce murals and sells his maps on items such as mugs and bags. Now following demand for a Bolton version, Dave, 30, has finally put pen to paper and created a map of the borough. ....
