San Antonio foodies are getting together to celebrate one of their own and you’re invited. Chef Mary Lou Davis is set to appear on Thursday night’s episode of “Hell’s Kitchen” as well as be part of a watch party here in San Antonio. Fans and foodies alike can stop by Evil Olive at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, to show their support and take part in a question and answer session with the chef. Davis was one of 18 contestants chosen to take part in the hit show’s 19th season. She made her TV debut back in January. For those who haven’t been keeping up with the show, this season’s contestants are competing for a position at celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen restaurant in California and a cash prize of $250,000. ....

Obviously, things looks a little different the past two years because of the pandemic, but the University of California, Davis is hoping to prevent students from exposing themselves to the coronavirus by giving every student who stays on campus a $75 grant. The university partnered with the Healthy Davis Together organization to offer the grant, which can be redeemed for supplies in four categories: Get Active, Get Artsy, Home Improvement, and Let s Stay In with most of the students using it for the Home Improvement category. ....
