Schwager | Pennsylvania Bar Association WILKES-BARRE – The president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association has resigned from his post, following publicity from his arrest and misdemeanor criminal charges for patronizing a prostitute who police allege tried to extort him. David E. Schwager, 58, of Kingston and Emily Ann Merth, 25, were both charged by Luzerne County police authorities this week, in connection with an incident which took place on Dec. 30, 2019. According to the criminal complaint, Schwager had answered an advertisement for an escort, went to a home in Wilkes-Barre and paid Merth to engage in sexual activity. During the encounter, Schwager noticed that Merth was recording the proceedings on her cell phone.

He has not yet been arraigned, court records state. That will likely happen at the time of his preliminary hearing, scheduled for June 15.

Apr 28, 2021 A late Tuesday night incident has left two people dead on the South Side of Easton. Police were called to the Canal Park Apartments around 11:30 last night and when they arrived they found a man and a woman dead and another woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. Police say that woman was in a neighboring apartment and was hit when a bullet went through the wall. DA Terence Houck says police are not looking for anybody else who may have been involved in the incident and there s no danger to the public.
