Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

BUCKSPORT
A traffic stop on Main Street Sunday resulted in the arrest of a Brewer woman and the seizure of crack cocaine, oxycodone and another drug, Deputy Police Chief David Winchester reported.
Officer Ryan Welch stopped the vehicle because of a defect he noticed.
After an investigation, Welch arrested Sherry Bedard, 47, of Brewer on three counts of drug possession.
“A fairly significant amount of crack was seized,” Winchester said.
Drug incidents
Officer Chris McCrillis and Officer Gerald Lowe are investigating a March 10 drug incident in which a girl, 14, “ingested something and had an adverse reaction to it,” Winchester said. Due to medical concerns, the girl was taken to a hospital. ....

On March 1, the final day of Black History Month and just after Heart Month – a group of researchers from across the nation have published an article aiming to unite the cardiovascular  physician work force, bring awareness to the lack of diversity amongst cardiology professionals and promote methods of cultivating an anti-racist culture.
