Afghanistan is planning a COVID-19 vaccine rollout stretching to the farthest corners of a nation that the government doesn’t fully control. Widespread conflict, threats to health workers, and global supply failures stand in the way.
The health ministry’s target is to vaccinate 20 percent of its population this year, and 60 percent by the end of 2022. To do this, health officials are relying on both local and international humanitarian groups to go where the government cannot.

Kabul, Afghanistan, 8 March 2021: Today, Afghanistan received COVID-19 vaccine doses shipped via the COVAX facility, a partnership between CEPI, Gavi, UNICEF and WHO. This is a historic step towards the goal to ensure equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines globally, in what will be the largest vaccine procurement and supply operation in history. The delivery is part of a first wave of arrivals that will continue in the coming weeks and months.
On 08 March 2021, COVAX shipped 468,000 doses of the COVISHIELD vaccine, from the Astra Zeneca Serum Institute of India, in Mumbai. It arrived in the afternoon of Monday March 8, on an Emirates flight, at the Hamid Karzai International Airport. The arrival in Kabul marks a milestone moment. Pace of auto sales likely to slow due to chip shortage

The pace of growth in Taiwan’s auto sales might slow down this quarter due to a global shortage of chips used in the automative industry, despite robust sales performance last month, Capital Investment Management Corp (群益投顧) said.
The nation’s new car sales increased 12.47 percent month-on-month and 29.84 percent year-on-year to 51,179 units last month, auto information provider UCar.com said in a report on Monday last week, citing Directorate-General of Highways (DGH) data.
Capital Investment attributed the annual growth to seasonal factors, higher sales of Toyota Corolla Cross sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and consumers rushing to buy vehicles amid concerns of an auto shortage. ....
