The Commission approved quotes for both the signs and posts at its latest meeting. ELKINS With a contractor already in place to install new street signs throughout the county, Randolph County Commissioners made a pair of moves during their most recent meeting that put the final pieces in place for the 911 Road Sign Project to begin. The commission unanimously approved two quotes at its regular meeting at the James Cain Courthouse Annex. The first was for the making of the signs that will be created by the Mount Olive Correctional Complex. The second quote approval was for the sign poles, which will be made by the West Virginia Department of Highways. ....

ELKINS Officials took another step Thursday toward making the long-discussed Randolph County pool/splash pad project a reality. Randolph County Commissioners Mark Scott, David Kesling and Chris See met with engineering and planning firm E.L. Robinson at the Elks Country Club pool Thursday to plan for the upcoming project. “They (E.L. Robinson) were there taking measurements on each building and seeing what was salvageable and not,” Kesling said. “They were also getting some input from us three commissioners, along with Stanley Teets from the Elks.” ....
