In a resignation letter dated June 30 and posted to Twitter, West suggested that discrimination at the university drove him to leave the Divinity School. Cornel West Says Harvard Denied Him Tenure Because of His Views on âIsraeli Occupationâ Cornel West, a philosophy scholar and progressive activist, is claiming that he was denied tenure at Harvard University due to his views on the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
