Martin David Roberts, of King Street, appeared at Mold Magistrates Court on Wednesday. The 36-year-old admitted that on October 18 last year at Llay Custody facility in Davy Way he damaged a cell wall by spitting multiple times and requiring a decontamination callout to the value of £127.20. For that offence, he was fined £300 and ordered to pay compensation of to the value of the callout, as well as a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He also admitted that on that occasion he damaged a BMW and an Audi vehicle to the value of £1550 belonging to George Plant. He was fined a further £300 and ordered to pay compensation of £1550. ....

A coroner today spoke out on the tragic and awful mental health impact of the coronavirus pandemic after he delivered seven suicide verdicts on adult men in three days. John Gittins, coroner for the east and central areas of North Wales, said the number of male suicides was worrying evidence of the impact of Covid-19 on mental health. It comes after he delivered seven verdicts of suicide in just three days - on deaths that all took place during the height of coronavirus lockdown in June. He said This is a tiny snapshot, but it is the reality. They all relate to a particular time in June when there was a lot of talk about the impact of the pandemic on mental health and the affect it had. I think there has to have been an impact on mental health. ....
