Tragedy: The coroner s court A CORONER has heard moving tributes to a 24-year-old Carlisle man whose mother described him as “an all-round nice lad”. Daniel Kirk died in his bed at the Carlisle home he shared with his mum Janice and his brother James, an inquest in Cockermouth heard. Controlled Magneto-Mechanical Processes may Lead to New Generation of Artificial Muscles
Written by AZoMMay 7 2021 The overarching idea of this research project is to influence different biological processes at the cellular level (i.e., wound healing, brain synapses or nervous system responses) by developing timely engineering applications , explains 4D-BIOMAP s lead researcher, Daniel García González from the UC3M s Department of Continuum Mechanics and Structural Analysis.
The so-called magneto-active polymers are revolutionising the fields of solid mechanics and materials science. These composites consist of a polymeric matrix (i.e., an elastomer) that contains magnetic particles (i.e., iron) that react mechanically by changing their shape and volume.

MONTERREY, Mexico There is a scene near the end of the film “I’m No Longer Here” (“Ya no estoy aquí ) in which the lead character, a stoic Mexican teenager named Ulises, walks along a highway in New York City, huffing paint thinner.
Forced to flee his country after a misunderstanding with a gang, Ulises has been crushed by the isolation of immigrant life and is ready to give up.
For Juan Daniel García Treviño, who was a 16-year-old construction worker with no acting experience when he was cast as Ulises, it was the most difficult scene to film because it recalled his own harrowing adolescence in a notoriously rough region of northern Mexico.
