A political action committee created to keep San Francisco top prosecutor Chesa Boudin in office now appears to be financially outpacing a recall effort against him, new campaign finance records show.
Financial disclosures made public Monday show the camp supporting Boudin edged out the district attorney’s foes by about $20,000.
The San Franciscans Against the Recall of Chesa Boudin committee raised a total of $160,000, while the Committee Supporting the Recall of District Attorney Chesa Boudin raised about $139,800 by the most recent filing deadline. ....

The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago joined more than 11,000 organizations across the country last week in honoring Vietnam veterans.

My mother, Norrie Egan, born in Dublin, graduated from St. Vincent’s Hospital/UCD with a Diploma in Radiography in 1940 and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London during WWII. She was injured during an air raid – not from a bomb – she was cycling her bicycle to work when she was hit by a cab. Though it was wartime, she loved her job and being in London. She had many stories about the war, one being that because she spoke French, she was sent to meet the injured soldiers, French and English, who were brought to England after the Battle of Dunkirk. Another story was of working with St. Mary’s alumnus Sir Alexander Fleming who won the Nobel Prize in 1945 for his discovery of penicillin. He was conducting a trial using penicillin on returning arm ....

Doctors say they are feeling the stress of trying to provide quality care as the pandemic continues.(CBC)
Doctors in the province are facing the stress of trying to deliver quality care over the course of the pandemic, according to the associations that represent them.
Dr. Sonny Collis, president of the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Family Physicians, says they can t deliver the same amount of care over the workday.
A lot of us are either doing less, or we re extending our workdays a little bit longer to get all those patients taken care of, Collis told ....
