CVCC Bass Fishing Signs Bauer July 25, 2021 The Catawba Valley Community College bass fishing team added to its 2021-22 recruiting class, signing Jesse C. Carson standout Ben Bauer. Bauer, who has been fishing since age 4 and participating in fishing tournament since age 7, is excited to join the nationally-ranked Red Hawks. “It’s exciting,” Bauer said of signing on Thursday. “I’m sure I’m going to learn more about the sport. Just being at a college that has so much to offer and so many trades I love being a part of it.” ....

High school angler Hunter Keller understands his mom, Ashley, and dad, Dusty, need to live within the familys financial means. But theyve always done all they can to support Hunters love of competitive bass fishing. Rather than buy a pricey fiberglass boat, they chose a tough 18-foot aluminum boat powered by a 115-horsepower Yamaha V MAX SHO. Its a decision that recently paid back $10,000 in Yamaha Power Pay contingency money after Dusty registered for the Yamaha Power Pay program. When mom got the email confirming our 6th-place finish at the high school national championship was good enough for a $10,000 Yamaha Power Pay bonus, she was screaming and in tears of joy. 67-year-old died in Auburn crash still under investigation December 21, 2020 GMT AUBURN, Maine (AP) The person killed in a crash in Auburn was a 67-year-old man from Sabattus, police said Monday. The crash took place on Saturday evening when Daniel Brackett was traveling east on Minot Avenue and struck the rear of another vehicle. Brackett died at the scene, police said. Other people involved in the crash were not seriously injured, police said. Police said the crash remained under investigation and speed appears to have played a role. AP NEWS ....
