It’s back to school time in Santa Fe, sort of.
Come Monday, Santa Fe Public Schools will be re-opening in-person classes in a hybrid model. Students will be at school two days a week; learning will remain in COVID-19-era online remote mode for the other three days.
It’s a voluntary program both students and teachers can decide whether to return to in-person learning or stay at home and continue with online classes only. ....

New Mexico’s efforts to solarize local venues paint a vision for a future of community energy self-sufficiency.

Homelessness has been on the rise nationwide due to the economic impacts of COVID-19, and in New Mexico it was already climbing prior to the pandemic. New Mexico experienced a 27 percent rise in homelessness between 2018 and 2019, which is the “largest percentage increase” in homelessness in the country according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s “2019 Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress.” ....

Funding Obtained for Pojoaque Water System in New Mexico
When the water system is complete it will provide clean drinking water to approximately 10,000 people living on tribal and non-tribal land.
Sufficient funding has been obtained to complete the first phase of the Aamodt settlement agreement water infrastructure in the Pojoaque Basin in Santa Fe County, New Mexico.
The funding is due to an additional $137 million in the federal omnibus spending bill signed into law by former President Trump, reported the Albuquerque Journal. 
In addition to increased funding, the bill extended the substantial completion date of the project by four years to 2028. The Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System is part of the Aamodt Settlement Agreement and was authorized by Congress under the Aamodt Litigation Settlement Act of 2010 to settle Indian water rights disputes in the Pojoaque Basin. ....
