With all ballots counted, Fort Collins City Council candidates Shirley Peel and Susan Gutowsky have won the most votes in the District 4 and District 1 races. Final, unofficial results released Thursday afternoon showed District 1 incumbent Gutowsky ahead by 33 votes over challenger Nick Armstrong, who said he doesn t plan to request a recount. The final results for the District 4 race showed Peel ahead of second-place candidate Melanie Potyondy by 43 votes. Potyondy said Thursday afternoon that she still needs to consult with her campaign team but is unlikely to request a recount. Close races trigger an automatic recount when the first-place candidate leads the second-place candidate by less than 0.5% of the leading candidate s total votes. That margin is 11 votes for Peel s race and 17 votes for Gutowsky s race. ....
