The state recently allowed trials to resume again. Judge Matthew Sypniewski then imposed the maximum term Thursday. Fessette was originally arrested in 2019, after the child first disclosed the sexual assault. ....

The jury returned the guilty verdict against Kevin Fessette, 29, after approximately 30 minutes of deliberations of one count each of first-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, prosecutors said. Fessette now faces up to 25 years in state prison at his sentencing later. ....

However, later this morning, during a long-planned interview at the Aspen Institute, she said that “she will accept the decisions of FBI and career prosecutors on email probe”.
