Ala. The two teams combined to leave 18 runners on base over the seven-inning contest. UL Monroe left 12 runners on base while the Chanticleers stranded six.

The Mountaineers are now 26-17 and 8-12 in conference play. The Chanticleers move to 21-23, 9-15 in the Sun Belt. The final seeding for the 2021 Sun Belt Softball Tournament will be announced following the last regular season games on Saturday. Game 1 Coastal Carolina picked up where they left off in game one of the series, hitting four home runs in game two. The Chanticleers took the lead in the top of the third as Makiya Thomas brought in Taylor Sweigart on an RBI single. The lead went to 2-0 in the fourth as Mary Sobataka hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Sydney Guess.

In the pair of victories, the Chanticleers improved to 9-15 in Sun Belt Conference play and 21-23 overall. The Mountaineers dropped to 8-12 in conference and 26-17 overall.

The Chanticleers tied a season-high 11 hits in the victory over the Owls.
