Orangeville Council voted to extend tax and transit relief measures for residents from Dec. 31 until Mar. 31 during their meeting on Monday night.
Penalties and interest on late water bill and property tax payments will continue to be waived during the relief period and transit rides within Orangeville will remain free of charge.
“With regards to the recent change of our status here in Dufferin… going into the ‘red’ zone, I’m sure that’s going to affect some of our residents who potentially may have further financial struggles,” said Coun. Debbie Sherwood, in reference to why she brought the motion forward. ....
