Facts on Tuesday emerged about how Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Benin Republic, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.), was instrumental to the arrest of the Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho.
A top security source in the Benin Republic confided in The PUNCH that the former Chief of Army Staff wrote the government of the small West African country and insisted on the arrest and extradition of Igboho. ....

PIB: N’Delta groups threaten showdown over Reps’ approval of 3% for host communities

The Ijaw National Congress has said it will not be able to guarantee peace in the Niger Delta over the decision of the National Assembly to retain the three per cent proposed for host communities in the harmonised Petroleum Industry Bill.
The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People also warned that the PIB had the capacity to generate conflict with host communities, urging the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), not to sign the bill into law.
But the INC commended National Assembly members from the region who staged a walkout during the passage of the harmonised PIB on Thursday to protest against the three per cent allocation. ....

The Federal Government on Thursday said it would go after highly-placed Nigerians and other collaborators of the Independent People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, who stated this at a press briefing in Abuja, said irrespective of the collaborators’ standing in country, they would all face the full wrath of the law for challenging the nation’s sovereignty .
