Candace Parker's Sky teammate made a project about her in middle school

In what could be described as a full-circle moment, Chicago Sky forward Azurá Stevens is now teammates with one of her childhood basketball heroes, Candace Parker.
In a tweet posted Monday night, the team showed the two women standing next to each other all smiles after Stevens, 25, showed her new teammate a middle school project she did about her more than a decade ago. We also got a close-up of Stevens’ creation: a Parker doll that she made for the project.
Full circle moment.
Stevens created the doll in middle school, when Parker was a star player for the University of Tennessee. It’s a funny reminder of not only Parker’s incredible longevity at basketball’s highest levels but the age gap between her and some of her teammates. ....

I was absolutely astounded to see
Rennia Davis fall to the Lynx at the 9th pick. Although I had her 7th on my big board, many mocks and experts had listed her as a top 5 talent and it’s easy to see why. Standing at an impressive 6’2”, Davis is do-it-all forward who was a winner season in, and season out. Her athleticism pops and with her wiry frame, she wreaks havoc on defense while getting into the paint at will thanks to her high motor. She has grown into a leader for a very competitive Tennessee Lady Volunteers team. ....

NCAAW: How surprised should we be about the Arizona Wildcats?

The Arizona Wildcats earned a No. 2 seed in
Swish Appeal’s hypothetical NCAA Tournament bracket in 2020. So did the UCLA Bruins and Iowa Hawkeyes. The Northwestern Wildcats and Oregon State Beavers were 3 seeds and the Florida State Seminoles and Indiana Hoosiers were 4 seeds.
That handful of non-dominant programs represented the parity in women’s college basketball, which had only increased since the 11-time national champion UConn Huskies last won the title in 2016.

At the beginning of this season we knew that UConn still wasn’t back to being a prohibitive favorite (even though they had added No. 1 Hoop Gurlz recruit Paige Bueckers) and by season’s end the door was wide-open for any of the top seven overall seeds to win the national championship. We also knew that many of the teams in the 3- to 7-seed range could make runs as well. ....
