The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident Tuesday where one driver claimed to have fallen asleep at the wheel. The incident occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. on Highway 141, east of Bayard near the intersection with Highway 25. Twenty-two-year-old Domingo Rafael Lucas of Omaha, Neb. was westbound on Highway 141 in a 2013 Ford Fusion when he says he fell asleep, hitting the rear of a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado that was also westbound and driven by 35-year-old Denis Alan Rhodes of Perry. No injuries were reported and there was an estimated $2,500 in damage to each vehicle. Rafael Lucas was cited for failure to maintain control and no valid driver’s license. ....
