With the Top 10 released earlier this month, we took another look at the numbers to see which eateries are fan favorites based on category. Here are the top-voted eateries in their category: BBQ & BURGERS: Krazy Kim’s Blimpy Burgers (304 S. Ashley St.) Ann Arbor’s oldest hamburger joint has been slinging patties since 1953. Hungry eaters can customize their order by stacking up to 5 patties, upgrading to special buns and loading up on the toppings. ....
WINDSOR, ONT. Crystal White’s concern for her son’s living conditions is obvious. “They need help,” she says. “They can’t do laundry. They can’t cook. It’s not even liveable.” Her son, Dylan has lived at River Place on Detroit Street in Windsor’s west end for two and a half years. “It’s dirty, there’s stuff all over the floor, the bathrooms haven’t been cleaned in weeks,” Dylan White says. Recent attention from many groups shining a spotlight on this building and its living conditions has led the city to step in. “These people need help,” says Ashley Shepley of Community Connections. “This is a cry to the community. This is not good living conditions.” ....
Corn School is all set to make its return to the streets of LaGrange this October. LaGrange Clerk-Treasurer Laurie Miller announced at Tuesday nightâs LaGrange town board meeting that she has received all the permits required by the state to once again block off a blocks-long section of Detroit Street through downtown LaGrange to host the annual fall street festival. This year, Corn School will kick off on Tuesday, Oct. 5, and run through Saturday, Oct 9. Corn School President Sue Glick said there was never any doubt. Last year, officials canceled the festival due to public safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. However, that prompted a slew of comments on various Facebook pages claiming the street festival would never take place in downtown LaGrange because the state would never again allow the town to shut down that section of S.R. 9 through LaGrange. ....
