NEW BEDFORD Two third-generation toy salesmen, with a vast collection of nostalgic toys, will be inviting locals of all ages into their new vintage toy shop on March 16. Cojo’s Toy World, located at 763 Purchase St., is what co-owner Ted Bolduc, 39, says is a “tribute to his grandfather,” who passed away last summer. Bolduc’s shop will be stocked with toys from the 80s and 90s, similar to what you would’ve seen in his grandfather’s Westport store: Joe’s Toy World. “Our grandfather’s house was always filled with thousands of toys and collectibles. We were always around it,” Bolduc said, adding that his uncle co-owned the shop. “It’s in our blood.” ....
As downtown New Bedford continues to flourish in the new millennium, a new store is about to open that will continue to bring the downtown area back in time. First, Purchase Street Records brought in that vintage vinyl. Then last year, PLAY Arcade opened up to combine dinner and drinks with throwback video games.
