BHOPAl: Amid the increasing number of COVID-19 patients, the threat of dengue and malaria has started looming large in Bhopal. This is the reason that check-up campaigns are being run in various areas in the state capital.
It has been reported that in various areas of the city, extra-sensitive areas, slum areas and other settlements, there is a possibility of increasing dengue larvae, malaria, and spread of coronavirus. Hence, the campaign is being run at a broader level under which rapid tests and blood slide collection are being done. ....

FAISALABAD: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali has said that after reviewing the results of anti-dengue measures, weaknesses and shortcomings should be rectified immediately to eradicate the disease completely.
He said this while releasing larvae eatable Tilapia, Grass Carp and other types of fish in the ponds of Wasa near Jhal Chowk on Saturday.
DHA CEO Dr Mushtaq Sipra, DHO Dr Bilal Ahmed, District Coordinator Dr Zulqarnain, Deputy Director Fisheries Shahid Maqbool, Deputy Director Wasa Farhan Ali and other officers of various departments were also present.
The DC termed the move to release larvae eating fish in the ponds as beneficial and said that these fishes should be monitored regularly to maintain their livelihood. He asked the citizens to keep their homes, markets and their surroundings clean and not allow water to stagnate. In Bhopal, the threat of dengue and malaria has started looming large. This is the reason that check-up campaigns are being run in various areas in the state capital.
It has been reported that in various areas of the city, extra-sensitive areas, slum areas and other settlements, there is a possibility of increasing dengue larvae, malaria, and spread of coronavirus. Hence, the campaign is being run at a broader level under which rapid tests and blood slide collection are being done.
District Malaria Officer Akhilesh Dubey said that a campaign is being run for the prevention of malaria by appointing teams in different areas. Nearly 799 people have been tested so far for malaria in Bhopal through rapid tests. ....

An exploration of Arabic and African tunings using Allami’s own transcultural music-making tools, Apotome and Leimma.
Khyam Allami is an Iraqi-British musician and composer whose career has spanned several decades and multiple instruments. Following the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Allami decided to reconnect with his roots, and began to study the Oud, Arabic and Iraqi music, which he explored on his 2011 debut solo album, Resonance/Dissonance.
Allami’s current focus, which he launched as part of this year’s CTM Festival, is Apotome, a project developed with creative studio Counterpoint. Apotome is a generative music system focused on transcultural tunings and their subsets, which has been designed to operate alongside Leimma a sister application that is used to explore and create these tunings. ....
