How long can Muhyiddin hold on to the red hot reins of power in Malaysia?

People who continue to insist that the declaration of Emergency will imperil democracy and rule of law. Since there will be few, or almost no mechanisms, to act as checks and balances on the exercise of that power fail to understand that even when so called supposedly “democracy” was functioning in Malaysia there was no real checks on abuse of power either. There were even less balances that really curbed excesses in government or politicians and bureaucrats who were aligned to the oligrachs…..if all these systems really worked. There would be no 1MDB scandal….that would have been impossible….this is the reason why when some quarters in Malaysia scream out loud that democracy is well and truly dead due to the imposition of the Emergency rule. No one really cares enough to join in the chorus. Because even BEFORE emergency powers was invoked….most Malaysians realised the checks and balances which were supposed to work in their so called democracy to ....
