SINE Abreño continues to feature indigenous communities in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) online in support of the celebration of National Arts Month this February promoted by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
Award-winning independent filmmaker from Abra and Sine Abreño founder Dexter Macaraeg said from the recent presentation of the TINGGUIAN 101 that featured Dr. Paulina D. Sawadan, Dr. Joey M. Dela Cruz, Dr. Maria Teresa B. Beñas, AuresOindy Valera, andCassereneBagioan, he is also set to feature an Ibaloi artist in Sine Abreño Interviews.
Macaraeg said Melinda OcanTayab Castro, an Ibaloi artist and entrepreneur from Loakan, Baguio City will share her story as an Ibaloi struggling to survive in Quezon City amid the Covid-19 pandemic and being away with her only son, Celes and her 80-year old mother. ....

AN AWARD-winning independent filmmaker from Abra is making more efforts to promote the Tingguians, the Indigenous People of the province.
From making documentaries and short films about the tribe, Sine Abreño founder director Dexter Macaraeg came up with the project dubbed Sine Abreño Interviews: Tingguians 101, which is being featured online.
Macaraeg said the event, which started on February 10, is Sine Abreño s contribution to the celebration of National Arts Month this February, which is also being promoted by theNational Commission for Culture and the Arts.

THE Sine Abreño in partnership with the Film Development Council of the Philippines is now accepting entries for short films and documentaries for the Abrenian Heritage Film Festival 2021.
Sine Abreñofounder and film fest organizer award-winning director Dexter Macaraeg said the 3rd edition of the festival will not only give opportunity to young filmmakers to showcase their talents but it also aims to support the promotion of culture though arts amid the pandemic.
“When you focus on the goodness in life, you create more of it,” Macaraeg said.
Dubbed “Culture in Crisis: Arts Fighting to Survive Covid-19 Impact” the festival is open to filmmakers from Regions 1 and 2, Cordillera Region and including Metro Manila. ....
