Denison salutes Top 10, Class of 2021
DISD
In spite of challenges caused by the nation’s worst pandemic in history, Denison High School’s Class of 2021 graduating seniors are looking forward with great excitement to Saturday May 22nd at 8:30 p.m. when they’ll make the time-honored trip across Munson’s historic graduation stage to proudly accept their diplomas. Because the ceremonies will be outdoors, masks will not be required, but social distance guidelines will be enforced. Only graduates will be seated on the field.
In case of rain on Saturday, graduation will be moved to Sunday night at 8:30. If it rains on Sunday night, the program will be moved to the DHS gymnasium and each senior will be issued four tickets to distribute to family.

Former President Bill Clinton called the summer of 1963 one of the most formative periods of his life.
It was that summer that Clinton attended Arkansas Boys State and American Legion Boys Nation, where he famously shook hands with President John F. Kennedy.
“Boys State and Boys Nation helped to teach me from a young age that democracy requires us to get off the sidelines and into the arena,” Clinton said on the March 4 episode of his podcast, “Why Am I Telling You This?”, in which he interviewed another Boys State alum, Steven Garza.
Garza is one of the Texas Boys Staters featured in the award-winning documentary, “Boys State.”

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - As the state froze under a cold snap, so did grocery store supply chains. Texans went hungry as delivery trucks could not reach the stores.
That’s when H-E-B reached out to local farmers like Alcove Farms to close the gap.
Farm manager Amos Green said although road conditions were dangerous, they personally delivered dozens of crates to the Lubbock and Abilene H-E-B stores.
“They made the call to us and we were able to help,” Green said. “It wasn’t the most optimal trip to make the roads were a little bit treacherous, but we figured if we have supplies, might as well help where we can.”
