Public Health Dental Clinics in Delaware permanently closing

DOVER, Del. – The Delaware Division of Public Health has announced that the Bureau of Oral Health and Dental Services will not reopen its Public Dental Clinics for direct patient care.
The clinics, which previously operated within the Delaware State Service Centers, have been temporarily closed since the beginning of the pandemic. We’re told the decision to permanently close the clinics was under consideration before the pandemic began, due to steady declines in the number of patients served through the clinics over the last few years as well as an increasing shift in programming focused on school and community outreach. ....

HHS provides $369,158 to businesses in Surfside Beach under CARES ACT


Through the fourth quarter of 2020, businesses in Surfside Beach received $369,158 in health-related relief from the CARES act issued by the Department of Health and Human Services.
According to numbers reported through the fourth quarter of 2020, businesses in South Carolina received $1.2 billion in health-related relief from the CARES act issued by the Department of Health and Human Services. The largest recipient of funding in the state was Prisma Health-Upstate with a total of $131 million. The average loan size in the city was $15,382 while the state s average loan amount was $258,718.
Of the money distributed, $30 billion went out automatically to health providers based on previous year medicare payments. If the money wasn t returned within 90 days the provider is then automatically entered into the repayment terms that are issued by HHS.
