Goa govt to take control of admissions in pvt hospitals from Monday ANI | Updated: May 15, 2021 21:29 IST Panaji (Goa) [India], May 15 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Saturday said the state government will take control of admissions of patients in all 21 private hospitals from Monday by stationing a government officer in each of these. Briefing mediapersons, the chief minister said, We repeatedly asked private COVID hospitals in Goa to reserve 50 per cent beds for COVID patients but they did not comply. Hence, the government will take control of admissions at these 21 private hospitals from Monday. The government will pay for treatment at these hospitals.

ANI | Updated: May 06, 2021 23:34 IST Panaji (Goa) [India], May 6 (ANI): The Goa government has issued notification that COVID-19 treatment in the state will be covered under its medical insurance scheme Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY). The notification said that COVID patients will be charged Rs 8,000 per day for the general ward and Rs 19,200 per day for ICU facilities with ventilators under the scheme. The DDSSY package will include admission charges, primary and specialist consultant charges, bed charges, nursing charges, diet, PPE kits for staff, X-Ray, ECG, along with other tests, medical equipment and medicines. However, the government said the package will not include diagnostic interventions, special drugs, use of special equipment, other special procedures and surgery and extra oxygen flow other than ICU.

Goa on Tuesday recorded 2,110 COVID-19 cases (Representational photo) Panaji: The Goa government on Wednesday announced that COVID-19 treatment in private hospitals will be covered under its flagship medical insurance scheme. Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the treatment of COVID-19 patients at private hospitals will be covered under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY). Up to 70 to 80 per cent expenditure of a COVID-19 patient at private hospitals will be covered under the scheme, he said, adding that a notification in this regard will be issued soon. The state government recently capped the cost of COVID-19 treatment at private hospitals to Rs 8,000 per day for general ward and 19,200 per day for ICU facilities with ventilators.
