With someone dying by suicide every six hours in the state, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is releasing a report that makes recommendations on how to reduce the suicide rate.
The Michigan Suicide Prevention Commission Initial Report is from a group appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in March 2020.
“In Michigan, anyone who needs help should be able to get it,” said Gov. Whitmer. “This task force will do critical work to collect data, expand resources, and implement best practices so we can save lives. We must work together to reduce suicide rates in Michigan and make sure that everyone knows that it’s OK to not be OK and help is always here.” ....

LANSING, Mich According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), one person dies every six hours by suicide in the state. That’s why the department is releasing a report that makes recommendations on how to reduce the suicide rate.

A 13-year veteran of the Las Cruces Police Department, Community Liaison Officer Aaron Glymph has enjoyed the opportunity to interact and build relationships with people from all walks of life in the Las Cruces community.
“Being in this role allows me to touch people’s lives and improve our community. I really enjoy connecting with people and hearing their stories,” Glymph said.
Part of his role as Community Liaison Officer includes involvement with the City’s Weed & Seed and Teen Connection programs. Weed & Seed was started as a Department of Justice Grant program, but has evolved into more than an after-school and summer program for at-risk youth. The program now includes mentorship, educational, nutritional, and life skills assistance for entire families, positive daily interaction with Law Enforcement officers, and support services for the entire Weed & Seed community.
