I’ve been called a lot of things, but never a Schitt-Head. At least not with that spelling.
But I am a good Canadian, despite not having watched every (okay,
any) episode of the beloved
Schitt’s Creek comedy series that recently cleaned up at the Emmys.
So I’m here to make amends in the form of a) watching the show; and b) making a pilgrimage to Goodwood, Ontario – the unlikely crossroads with a scattering of buildings and a population of 663 that, just north of Toronto, was where the antics of the Rose family (played by Eugene Levy, Daniel Levy, Annie Murphy, and Catharine O’Hara) won the hearts of millions. I’m also going to swing by Mono (near Orangeville) to check out the classic motel that starred as the Rosebud Motel.
