But after a pep talk from head coach Jesse Soulia, the Panthers made a big comeback and won 26-14 for their first victory of the season. The Panthers (1-3) scored 10 runs in the third to spark that comeback. “Tonight, I watched my team come together and support each other on and off the field,” Soulia said. “Players playing in places that they had not played before. Hits were contagious tonight and I surely enjoyed seeing all the smiles.”

Poultney had the bases loaded with one out, trailing the Raptors 17-15. Rivendell head coach Eric Reichert made a pitching change in the big spot: he called on senior Nate Parkin. And Parkin shut Poultney down. He struck out the first batter and induced a groundout to end the game. Rivendell won 17-15. Much of the Raptors’ damage came in a 10-run fifth inning. Junior Wyatt Underhill paced Rivendell with a 3-for-5 game, with four RBIs, four runs, and five stolen bases. Senior Ty Newman went 2 for 5 with a triple, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Sophomore Harry Molesworth went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs.
